 In most custom design LCD, the user may wish to have the touch keys built on the panel, overlapping or adjacent the LCD pattern. Clover can offer a capacitance type touch panel which may meet most applications at the reasonable cost.
In the example shown here, the touch areas could be built below the display 7 segment digit and icon display. Alpha-numeric characters, and dot matrix pixels are also possible. Displays may be specified with for TN, STN or FSTN, positive or negative mode with or without backlight options.
With one standard touch panel IC, it is possible to have up to 8 touch keys with key areas of 10mmx10mm minimum. It is also possible to have the touch areas overlapping the display patterns.
The lead time to develop a touch panel is 6-8 weeks while the mass production will take around 14 weeks after the prototype is approved.
